Retirement Options

You now have many choices on when to retire and many ways to fund for your retirement. We aim to help you cut through the confusion and develop a clear strategy to suit your requirements, within the strict confines of current regulations.

Building a Retirement Fund
Your current plans may include some of the following; if they do not we can show you how they could form part of a broader approach:

Investment Property
Foreign Investment Property
Personal Pensions
Commercial Property
Company Pensions
Stakeholder Pensions
ISA
Investments Offshore or Onshore
Your company

If you have funds in existing pensions are you certain the portfolio has been updated in accordance with your approach to risk?  Is the fund selection being regularly reviewed? The same approach we take with conventional investments applies to Pension Funds, especially now that Self Invested Personal Pensions (SIPPs) have become available and we are able to include investment classes that have not been available to date. In any event you need to be aware of your options.  If you are funding for retirement why not review your situation and be certain you are using the most appropriate strategy?

Looking to Retire
As you approach retirement it is also important to know your options, especially as the law has recently changed.  Some of the questions we will ask are:-

Do you intend to stop working immediately?
Do you want to phase in your retirement income?
What level of Tax do you expect to pay?
Are you in good health?
Have you any dependants?
Do you want any risk attached to your income?
Do you need a Tax-Free Lump Sum?
Do you want generation planning for your retirement funds?

Some decisions at this stage are irreversible, so the planning and advice must be meticulous.  Our independence means that we can advise on every means of generating income in retirement, at whichever stage.
